Experimental Works in Mixed Media
These works are from a series, currently in progress, entitled
'WOMAN: GUISE AND DISGUISE'
and are a combination of
digital photography, image transfers, collage and paint on canvas.
There is a strange mix of objectivity and intimacy in creating works using
one's own image. Observing from an external vantage point somehow seems to bring a clearer perspective about the
power of appearance ~ the way it relates to others the human qualities that lie beneath the surface of ourselves.
The words of beloved poets, ancient authors, makers of music, as well as my own are included in the texts. It
feels as though they have much to say about the power of nuance, memory, nurture and nature.
Upon completion of a significant body of work I will be seeking gallery representation
for this series.
